World Book Day

Celebrate World Book Day with Quick Reads
Ten fantastic new Quick Reads titles will be published on World Book Day,
4 March 2010. To celebrate their release, activities will be taking place across the country on World Book Day and a new range of Quick Reads resources are being launched.

Bestselling authors Andy McNab, Peter James and Cathy Kelly, together with television personalities Rolf Harris and Alvin Hall are among the Quick Reads writers for 2010, which marks the campaign's fifth anniversary.
The great mix of titles and their accessible format make Quick Reads perfect for adults who are new to reading, find reading tough or simply want a fast, fun read.
To help you make the most out of your Quick Reads there are a range of ideas for activities:
• Encourage readers to enter the Quick Reads competition, for the chance to win a VIP, expenses paid trip to meet a bestselling Quick Reads author (deadline extended until 26th February!)
• Run a Family Learning Breakfast, to encourage children and their parents to read and learn together;
• Start a reading group, or plan a library or bookshop visit;
• Read exclusive sample chapters of the brand new titles (from 4 March);
• Listen to Quick Reads author podcasts to start discussions about the books; and
• Use a new set of learning resources to support your use of the books with learners.
NEW for 2010 Quick Reads will be available to download direct to computers, phones and e-readers as eBooks. Look out for a free book download offer on World Book Day!
Do something different this World Book Day! Quick Reads are available from supermarkets, bookshops and online, priced at just £1.99. For more information or to order your FREE promotional material, visit the website.
